Why Wear Purple in the Forest?

Unless your goal in photographing people in the forest is to have them camouflaged, it is critical to use contrasting colored clothing. For the image above, multiple items were used to highlight the model.
  1. The dress was in contrast to the background
  2. A very shallow depth of field was used (f/1.8)
  3. The model was placed in a well lit area, compared to the surroundings
  4. If I had a flash strobe available I would have placed it facing the model to highlight her from the back ground (sadly, my flash fell and broke a few photographs into the shoot: Tip: weigh down your light stands on windy days)
Camera Settings: ISO100, f/1.8, 1/128s
