Knowing where to go for different weather conditions is something you develop by revisiting places again and again.
One particular morning it was foggy and quite, I knew exactly where to go and shoot. I quickly got my camera gear and drove off to this the forest in the image above. And without wasting any time set the tripod and took a couple of shots. Within a few minutes the wind picked up and the fog was gone.
The trick to shooting fog is to slightly overexpose (1/3 to 1/2 a stop), the lack of contract renders everything brighter than it is, so over exposing correctly captures the scene.
Camera settings: ISO100, f/22, 1/20s
