Painting with slowshutter

©Ankit Gajjar - All Rights Reserved

Whenever I come across a colorful garden, I almost always have to try a slow shutter shot to see what it would look like. In this case, I saw a garden of tulips setup my camera to shutter mode (Canon "Tv", Nikon "S").  Then dropped the shutter speed to as low as I could go which was 1/30s. This was not slow enough to get the painterly effect. I threaded on a ND filter and viola a shutter speed of 1/2s was achieved.

No tripod needed, simply move the camera slowly in any direction and the colors will spread giving the photo a painted look.
