Exposing a high contrast scene without proper filters or artificial light is difficult. You either lose detail in the highlights or in the shadows. However, one way to shoot a scene and get proper exposure is to hide the brightest parts of the image behind something.
In this case I composed the scene to hide the Sun behind the grass, and this helped provide a back lite scene with good exposure.
Camera settings: ISO100, f/13, 1/150

ReplyDeleteAmmmmazinggg!
ReplyDeleteTraditional approach is to spot meter and highlight the backlit scene but to expose for the entire scene, this is a smart approach! Good shot here.
