How to Photograph Fall Foliage Spirals

I prefer wide angle, long exposure photographs for Fall. With all the leaves falling one can almost capture the movement of air, the work of gravity and/or the flow of water.

The image above was taken using a polarizing filter on the lens - this allowed me to photograph at slower shutter speeds and also removed the glare on the waters surface, which in turn enabled the capture of leaves moving below the surface.

Essential tools: Tripod, polarizing filter, cable release (optional)
Camera Setting: ISO 100, f/22, 1s
Lightroom: Corrected white balance (to cloudy), increased saturation, increased contrast and cropped as needed.
