Shilpgram is an arts, crafts and cultural complex situated in Udaipur. In December hundreds of dancers, performers, artists and trades people from all across India come here for the 10 day festival to present their talents, attributes and skills.
Traditional architectural huts are constructed and painted to show case designs and character of each culture present at the festival.
The complex also showcases a large open air amphitheater capable of seating thousands of spectators.
I was not lucky enough to visit Shilpgram at its prime time, however I did manage to capture some of the performers and crafts.
Hand paintings and puppets.
Clay craftsman carve out detailed sculptures by hand, each piece unique. The authenticity of this place is amazing, even the roof shingles are hand made.
